Féile Dúthalla 2010 - Talks/Music Series Gets Underway
Fr. Seán Ó Duinn was the first guest speaker in this years Féile Talks/Music Series an got the series underway in style with a wonderful talk in front of a sizeable audience at Bob's Upstairs Bar on wednesday, February 3rd, 2010. His talk titled The Feast Days of the Year in Celtic Culture primarily explored the four major Celtic Festivals of the year and the Feast Day of Saint Brigid was given special consideration. A lively meeting chaired by Patrick Casey enjoyed an interesting questions and answers session following Fr. Ó Duinn's talk and light refreshments were served. Féile wishes to thank Fr. Ó Duinn for conducting the seminar , the audience who turned out in great numbers (attendance 30 adults), Bob's Upstairs Bar, Kanturk for use of the venue & its services and the Féile Crew who ran the session. Fr. Ó Duinn will return later in the year with another talk titled The Festival of Lunasa, on August 4th at the Trades Union Hall, Strand Street, Kanturk at 8.30pm.
The next Talks/Music Series event will take place in Bob's Upstairs Bar on wednesday, March 3rd at 8.30 with guest speaker Dr. Ruan O'Donnell. The United Irishmen is his topic and Féile extends a cead míle fáilte to all interested people to this talk.
